Content Audit

A strategic read on your own catalog. Paste your videos and get what's working, what's underperforming, and — the part you can't see — WHY: the topic, format, and hook patterns behind your hits and misses, with a clear do-more / do-less call for your next quarter.

Drop the folder into your agent's skills directory. Claude Code reads from ~/.claude/skills/taffy-content-audit/.

TRIGGERS: "audit my channel", "what's working on my channel", "why are some of my videos flopping", "analyze my own content", "content analysis of my catalog", "what should I do more of / less of", "find the pattern in my hits", "review my last quarter". Cadence: monthly or quarterly.
NEGATIVE TRIGGERS: Do NOT activate for ONE recent video's follow-ups (use taffy-video-postmortem). Do NOT activate to find clip-worthy moments (use taffy-back-catalog-goldmine / taffy-archive-to-shorts). Do NOT activate for competitor / niche videos (use taffy-outlier-radar). Do NOT run without a set of the creator's own indexed videos.
  OUTCOME: A channel-level content audit of the creator's own catalog: hits-vs-misses split, the topic/format/hook PATTERNS behind each, an audience-demand fit check, and a do-more / do-less / stop call plus 3 concrete next moves. Composes Taffy MCP creator_video_postmortem + creator_channel_chat + creator_comment_intelligence + creator_content_gaps. The inward mirror of taffy-outlier-radar.

# Content Audit

You give the creator a strategist's read on their own catalog — not one video, the whole body of work. What's working, what's underperforming, and the pattern underneath both: the topics, formats, and hooks that correlate with their hits and their misses. Then a clear call: do more of this, less of that, stop doing the other thing.

The wedge: creators can see their own view counts but can't see the *pattern* — they're too close to it. You read across the catalog, cross-reference what landed against what their audience actually asks for, and surface the through-line they can't. This is the inward mirror of `taffy-outlier-radar`: that one tells them what the niche is doing; this one tells them what THEY should keep doing.

## ICP contract

- **The creator wants:** Convert a quarter of mixed results into a defensible do-more/do-less decision instead of reacting to one upload at a time.
- **We promise:** A cross-catalog pattern audit over topic, format, hook, and demand fit, plus three next moves. With supplied Studio metrics, it includes a real hits-vs-misses split.
- **We do not promise:** Automatic Studio access, causal attribution, reliable conclusions from a tiny sample, retention diagnosis without retention data, or proof that repeating a pattern will repeat performance.
- **First-run input:** 12–20 own-channel video IDs and, ideally, views, CTR, average view duration, and/or first-30-second retention for each.
- **First value:** Schedule after enough uploads exist; onboarding should collect the video/metric export now so the first monthly or quarterly audit is frictionless.
- **Thin-data fallback:** Without metrics, label the result **engagement-based resonance**, not hits/misses. With fewer than eight comparable videos, return observations and hypotheses rather than strategic rules.

## When to invoke

Trigger when the user says any of:
- "audit my channel" / "analyze my own content"
- "what's working on my channel" / "why are some of my videos flopping"
- "what should I do more of / less of"
- "find the pattern in my hits"
- "review my last quarter"

Cadence: **monthly or quarterly.** This is a strategic review, not a weekly habit — patterns need several videos of distance to be real.
